Tasty Thai on the West SideWe ate at Phnom Penh one Tuesday night after getting many good recommendations about the place from friends.

Fantastic foodThe original Phnom Penh restaurant on Lorain is under the second family management group. This is a tiny restaurant, with only 3 parking places on premises. Other cars can park across the street on Lorain, or on the streets all around the park, which is right across the street from the restaurant. Prices are low to moderate, and food is absolutely fantastic, so it is hard to go wrong here. Our usual approach is to order pad thai with shrimp, plus one other dish, and then share them family style. The iced tea is a great accompaniment, or hot tea in the cooler months. Service is by family members, and very personable. After one or two visits they know you, and will ask if you want to try the pad thai again, or something else--and with us it is always the pad thai plus something else because their pad thai is the best we have ever had, anywhere, ever, including in Bangkok! The place has no atmosphere, so if you are an atmosphere diner, go somewhere else. If you want the most fantastic Cambodian-Thai food ever, come here! Ivan & Fran Vernon
