The service is great. Your food arrives quickly and the staff is very friendly. I work downtown and eat there almost every day for lunch. Even at its busiest, the service is awesome!

Great food and serviceI am Vietnamese and travel all over the country for work. In every City I travel to, I usually try to find a Vietnamese restaurant to eat at. Of course, I usually compare the food to my Mom\'s home cooking and she is an awesome cook, so that\'s my baseline.
Green Papaya is a great place to eat. It\'s in a trendy area of Dallas and it\'s a see and be seen type of place. The food is good, sort of authentic. The menu is in Vietnamese and there are dishes on there that are both Vietnamese and food that is more akin to Chinese Stir Fry. In either event, the food tastes good.
However, I must say that the food has been geared towards a more American pallet. What I mean is that the food is not as spicy nor as \"fishy\" as in a real Vietnamese restaurant. The food is also a bit sweeter than normal. Take for instance the Banh Xeo. The crepe is much sweeter than it traditionally should be. It might be the Nouc mam, but it was still quite flavorful and delicious.

A Vietnamese Has-beenGreen Papaya used to be great! The last few times (over the last couple of years) that we\'ve given it \"another try,\" we\'ve been sorely disappointed. Yes, the service is fast - because the egg rolls are sitting under a heat lamp and the Flat Noodle Plate came right out of the microwave. I used to die for the grilled chicken breast with vegetables and rice, but the last several times it had been reheated with the (formerly wonderful) caramel sauce painted on the top. At least make sure it\'s heated through before bringing it to the table!
If you want your food prepared to order, try Vietnam on Bryan Street or Oishi on Wydliff.
